Our journey began with a passion
Laws4Paws Rescue was inspired by a lifelong love for animals. As a little girl growing up on a farm in Pueblo County, I often helped lost dogs find their way home, going door-to-door to reunite them with their owners. This early connection to animals, particularly strays, eventually led me to want to make a greater impact as an adult. After assisting other rescues for years, I decided to dedicate myself full-time to what I loved most: giving every dog a second chance.
One tail wag at a time
At Laws4Paws Rescue, we are not defined by numbers; we are defined by "One Tail Wag at a Time." Our philosophy ensures each dog receives the individual attention, rehabilitation, and follow-up support needed for a permanent, loving home. This meticulous approach reduces the likelihood of returns, shelter drop-offs, or abandonment. While rescue work is complex and often heartbreaking, our individualized model prioritizes long-term success over short-term volume, creating truly happy endings for our canine companions.
Making a difference beyond rescue
Laws4Paws Rescue is deeply involved in our Pueblo community. We assist low-income families with vaccinations, volunteer at spay and neuter clinics, and work directly with local shelters to address dog overpopulation. We also run the "Paws & Hooves Youth Compassion Program," introducing animals to children and emphasizing their importance in daily life. Our goal is to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, promoting micro-chipping, vaccinations, and spay/neuter initiatives to ensure animals are integrated as cherished family members.
